Neighbourhood Plan – Consultation Dates Announced

Hanley Castle Neighbourhood Plan

A 7 week consultation running from
Friday 16th February to 5:00pm on Friday 6th April 2018
is to be held.

Under Regulation 15 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, Hanley Castle Parish Council has submitted the draft Hanley Castle Neighbourhood Plan to Malvern Hills District Council. In accordance with Regulation 16, the District Council would like to invite comments from organisations and individuals on the draft Neighbourhood Plan.

Hanley Castle Parish Council undertook consultation on an earlier draft of their Plan between April and June 2017. Comments made during this period helped inform changes to the document now submitted to Malvern Hills District Council. The Neighbourhood Plan includes policies to guide the development of new housing in the parish and proposes the allocation of 22 additional dwellings and an extension to an existing care home. The Neighbourhood Plan proposes policies to protect sites of archaeological and biological interest, heritage assets, ancient woodland and trees. The Neighbourhood Plan also proposes the designation of eight new Local Green Spaces.

It is the responsibility of Malvern Hills District Council to collate all the responses and forward them on to an independent examiner, who will consider the responses and the Plan documents when assessing whether the Neighbourhood Plan meets the relevant legislation and can therefore proceed to referendum.

Further information, including the submitted Hanley Castle Neighbourhood Plan, supporting documentation and Response Forms, are available on the Malvern Hills District Council website at http://www.malvernhills.gov.uk/neighbourhood-planning/ . This website, The Hanleys, also shows the plan documentation but any responses must be made directly to Malvern Hills District Council.

Paper copies of the draft Hanley Castle Neighbourhood Plan are available to view at the Malvern Customer Service Centre & Library, Tenbury Wells Customer Service Centre & Library, Upton-upon-Severn Library and the Hanley Swan Village Stores. Response Forms are also available at all of these locations.

Comments on the draft Hanley Castle Neighbourhood Plan should be sent to Malvern Hills District Council by 5pm on Friday 6th April 2018 using the Response Form.

Comments can be emailed to developmentplans@malvernhills.gov.uk or sent by post to Planning Policy at Malvern Hills District Council, Planning Services, The Council House, Avenue Road, Malvern, Worcestershire, WR14 3AF.
