This Year’s Show 2017

We hope you are looking forward to one of the major social events in the village calendar, as we start the preparations for the show once again.  This year we have a number of categories to celebrate our village show, both in photography and literature, we do hope you find this interesting to challenge your talents.

We are trying to develop the show and move with the times.  We are therefore going to encourage more stalls and events on the main Village Hall Car Park.  If you want a stall to sell produce, crafts or anything else that will be of interest to those coming to the show, please contact a committee member to discuss.  If you have any other ideas on what you would like to see in this space, we will provide a Suggestions Box where you can give us ideas and feedback on what we can do to keep the show current and interesting for you all.

Those who have not entered before need to read the schedule carefully to ensure that they get the right criteria for the class.  Entries must be staged at the hall by 10.30 on the morning of the show, and cannot be removed until the conclusion ofthe prize giving at 16.00.  Prize money is collected from the side of the stage.

We will have the local group of musicians, Single Reeds, to provide us with some music to entertain. We hope to have more stalls from those who normally sell their wares at the Café and Market.  We are very grateful for the support of the Café and Market, which have provided us with additional funds for staging the show.  They also have kindly replaced two of our cups that went missing.

The Car Boot is on!

The annual clear out of your garage and loft is as popular as ever. The costs is £7 a boot. Access to the field on Saturday for Car Boots is from 12.00 onwards – but please remember the show itself opens at 1.30pm.

Teas and Cakes

Wonderful refreshments and home made cakes will be available from 1.00 pm onwards, courtesy of the kind volunteers from the Hanley Castle WI.

Can you help?

The committee are always extremely grateful for any help you can offer in running the show, helping in the hall, selling raffle tickets, or assisting in the administration.  Please contact any of the committee if you are able to help, even for an hour or so on Friday afternoon when we set the hall up, or on Saturday.

Entry Forms

Entries can be passed to any of the committee members,
by the end of Thursday 24th August 2017, or handed in to
Grange Farm Nurseries, Guarlford Road, Guarlford.
