Jon Palmer Memorial Charity Match 2016

Jon Palmer Memorial Charity Football Match

Sunday 14 August 2016

Hanley Swan Village Hall: 11.00 am onwards

Hanley Swan FC are once again very proud to be hosting the annual Jon Palmer memorial game which will be held on Sunday August 14th starting at 11 am. Jon was tragically killed in October 2013, he was a keen and very talented footballer and every year since his passing a charity match has been played between Jon’s childhood club Abbeymead Rovers and what was his current club Hanley Swan. Now in its third year this great event to remember Jon has gone from strength to strength …raising lots of money for local charities along the way. This year any monies raised will be split between the St. Faith’s Church, Berrow‘s restoration fund (where Jon was laid to rest), St Richard’s Hospice and Winston’s Wish. On the day a variety of refreshments will be provided including tea, coffee, soft drinks, ice creams and breakfast baps and for anyone wanting to celebrate Jon’s life with something a bit stronger, this year a bar will be selling lager, bitter, cider and wine.

The day will kick off with a junior match at 11 am, followed by a walking football match at 12, then the main match at 1 pm. Anyone who would like to donate a prize for the raffle please contact Mike or Andrea Palmer via this link Jon Palmer Memorial Charity Football Match
