Dear Parishioner

Progress

It may have seemed quiet but the Steering Group have been making progress! We have identified six topics that will form the basis of our plan, these are:

  • Housing Requirements
  • Potential Residential and Business Development Sites
  • Tourism
  • Environmental, Conservation and Protection
  • Infrastructure
  • Business Requirements

The Steering Group have scoped the potential content of these topics and are currently forming teams to devise potential questions to be used in a questionnaire. We are hoping to distribute the questionnaire in the summer to all households in the Parish, businesses will have a separate document.

Volunteers

We are still looking for people that are prepared to help with Neighbourhood Planning in any capacity, so please let me know if we can call upon you at any time.

Formalities

MHDC are responsible for certain statutory consultations to do with our plan, you may have noticed the piece in the Malvern Gazette but if not below is a copy of the formal notice about our designated Neighbourhood Area.

Hanley Castle Neighbourhood Area Designation Consultation

Malvern Hills District Council has received an application for the designation of a Neighbourhood Area from Hanley Castle Parish Council. The designation of a ‘neighbourhood area’ is the first formal stage in the process towards developing a neighbourhood development plan.

The District Council has now published the application and area map on its website in accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations. The application and map can be viewed at Neighbourhood Planning.

The application is published to invite representations on the appropriateness of the proposed area boundary, to consider whether there are any reasons why the District Council should not designate the area as a Neighbourhood Area.

Your comments on the designation of the proposed Neighbourhood Area are invited. Comments may be submitted by email to developmentplans@malvernhills.gov.uk or by post to Development Plans and Conservation, Malvern Hills District Council, Council House, Avenue Road, Malvern, Worcestershire, WR14 3AF.

The period for submitting representations relating to the proposed Hanley Castle Neighbourhood Area designation begins on Friday 2nd May and closes at 5pm on Friday 13th June 2014. Representations received beyond this date may not be considered.

I hope this brief note has been of interest to you and we will use this approach in the future to help keep you informed. We are also hoping to have details on the village web site, but no timescale on that yet!
