21st September 2012

AGM and talk on The Railway Engineer Stephen Ballard by Pamela Hurle.  Village Hall, 7.30 pm.

It is our AGM which is followed by a talk by Pamela Hurle on ‘Stephen Ballard’. He was a Victorian engineer who lived locally and was, among many other attainments, the engineer in charge of the building of the tunnel and railway through the Malvern Hills.

30th November 2012

Saving our History, a talk on preserving old garden tools and machinery, by John and Anne Guest.  Village Hall, 7.30 pm.

John & Ann Guest will give a talk on ‘Saving our History’. The saving and preservation of old garden tools and machinery.
The talk will be illustrated with many examples of these old tools.

25th January 2013

Preserving our Heritage in Stone, a talk by stonemason Richard Martin.  Village Hall, 7.30 pm.

24th February 2013

Hanley Community Dig, a report on the outcome of trench excavations at Quay Lane by county archaeologist Derek Hurst.

With a display of Roman finds and drawings by Glynis Dray.  Hanley Castle High School, 2.00 pm.  Please note that this meeting is on a Sunday afternoon rather than the usual Friday evening.

22nd March 2013

Tudor Worcester, a talk by Miriam Hale from Worcester City Guides.  Village Hall, 7.30 pm.

27th September 2013

AGM & Marcher Apple Project, a talk by Tom Froggatt about the project to restore old varieties of apples. Village Hall, 7.30 pm.

27th November 2013

The Story of Defford, a talk by Dennis Williams about Defford airfield during World War II and plans to restore a wartime hut on the Croome estate. Village Hall, 7.30 pm.

Refreshments will be served after the talks.

Members free. Visitors £2.50.
